M-F (7 AM - 3:30 PM)

No Weekends


JOB TITLE: Admissions Clerk


REPORTS TO: Directly responsible to the Business Manager


Workers Supervised: None

Interrelationships: Works cooperatively with all hospital departments.


JOB SUMMARY:

To perform designated routine tasks related to the operation of the Business Office.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Duties:


  1. Performs office duties including: opening up the department if first here, answering the phone, completing patient registrations in a timely manner, and answering billing questions.
  2. Assists with department documentation, including daily organization and filing.
  3. Assures compliance with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  4. Cooperates with other hospital personnel to maintain good employee relations and meet all department objectives.
  5. Communicates clearly and accurately with patients, families, physicians and co-workers.
  6. Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with hospital standards.
  7. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, in-service, meetings, etc.
  8. Attends and represents the department at appropriate meetings, as requested by the director.
  9. Performs tasks to maintain the department in an orderly condition.
  10. Maintains CONFIDENTIALITY of all information. Ensures that the patient/residents rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times.


Typical Working Conditions: -Occasionally exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases.

-Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.

-Occasionally exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and

illness)

-Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.



SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Six months of experience in healthcare, preferred.

Education: High school graduate

Req. Cert./Registration: N/A

Essential Functions: Available upon request. Level 3
