Position Title: Marketing Manager

Reports To: Vice President of Marketing & Communications

Location: Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Manager will serve as a key driver of brand visibility, creative campaign

development, and strategic storytelling at the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE). This full-time, in-person position requires a motivated and imaginative marketer

with 3–5 years of experience who thrives in fast-paced, purpose-driven environments.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing & Communications, the Marketing Manager will oversee integrated campaigns across digital, social, print, and experiential channels. They will manage projects from ideation to execution, collaborate with internal teams and external partners and Stakeholders, and develop initiatives that reflect and uplift the culture of

innovation, community, and Black entrepreneurship that defines RICE. The ideal candidate combines sharp project management skills with a fresh, outside-the-box creative lens.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

CampaignStrategy&Execution

  • Lead the development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns that align with RICE’s brand identity and annual goals.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support program launches, major events, thought leadership, and fundraising efforts.
  • Write and edit compelling copy for email, website, and promotional collateral.
  • Identify target audiences and deliver engaging, data-driven messaging strategies.

Creative & Content Development

  • Oversee development of visuals and creative assets in partnership with design contractors and content creators.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all external-facing materials and channels.
  • Support content strategy and storytelling efforts for owned platforms (e.g., blog, social media, newsletter, video).
  • Work with Media & PR to elevate RICE Stakeholder success stories and impact.

Project Management & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Use project management platforms (e.g., Monday.com, Asana) to track timelines, deliverables, and Stakeholder feedback.
  • Act as a connector across departments to ensure that marketing aligns with organizational priorities.
  • Lead the creation of marketing briefs and creative requests in collaboration with the Vice President.
  • Coordinate with PR, social, and digital teams to ensure integrated messaging across platforms.

Analytics & Optimization

  • Track performance metrics and marketing KPIs to measure campaign success.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly reports for internal and external Stakeholders.
  • Recommend and implement optimizations based on data insights.
  • Stay up to date on marketing trends, tools, and audience behavior.

Event Marketing & Support

  • Plan and execute marketing promotion for high-profile events, including digital campaigns, signage, and program materials.
  • Work closely with events and programs teams to ensure cohesive storytelling and messaging.
  • Support live content capture and on-site branding experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a marketing or communications role.
  • Proven project management experience; comfortable managing multiple campaigns at once.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task under deadline pressure similar to that of a newsroom.
  • Highly creative and able to conceptualize innovative campaigns and strategies.
  • Proficiency in design platforms (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) a plus.
  • Familiarity with email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), CMS systems (e.g., WordPress), and analytics tools.
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and deeply passionate about equity, entrepreneurship, and community impact.
