Shift

• Day / Day–Evening Coverage

• 3×12-hour shifts

• Hours: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Holiday Coverage: As needed

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to support an Adult Psychiatric Unit and Behavioral Health Float Pool. Candidates must have prior psychiatric nursing experience. Pediatric experience is preferred but not required. This role requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to function independently in an acute inpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an inpatient psychiatric and behavioral health setting

• Perform patient intake and assist with admission documentation

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures

• Measure, record, and monitor vital signs and patient progress

• Assist physicians and nursing staff during patient exams and procedures

• Administer injections and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures

• Maintain exam rooms and clinical treatment areas

• Implement nursing care activities under the direction of the RN and per established care plans

• Observe, document, and report patient responses to treatments

• Assist with general clinical and administrative duties, including chart preparation and documentation

• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care

• Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for accurate documentation

• Participate in unit-based activities and nursing unit management

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State LPN license

• CPR certification (or ability to obtain/re-certify)

• Minimum 1 year of LPN experience

• Psychiatric nursing experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric nursing experience

• Prior inpatient or acute care experience

• EMR documentation experience
