Our organization is actively looking for a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) to become part of our OB/GYN practice located in Shiloh, Illinois. We are proud to offer a Centering Group Prenatal Care program aimed at achieving optimal outcomes for both mothers and their babies.

The Shiloh office holds hospital privileges at HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital and BJC Memorial East Hospital.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nurse-midwifery services, which include antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, along with well-woman care and family planning, in accordance with established protocols and collaboration with the supervising physician.

  • Achieve the required productivity levels to meet the annual client encounter goals.

  • Engage in or lead relevant interdisciplinary teams and contribute to the development of the annual healthcare action plan as needed.

  • Conduct history and physical examinations for both new and returning clients.

  • Manage both acute and chronic illnesses following established protocols in partnership with physicians.

  • Refer patients to appropriate follow-up healthcare providers or community resources when necessary.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including ultrasounds and blood tests.

  • Offer emotional support and guidance throughout labor and pregnancy.

  • Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, identifying high-risk pregnancies as needed.

  • Administer medications, injections, and intravenous infusions during labor.

  • Provide postpartum care for both mothers and newborns.

  • Support parents in coping with miscarriage, termination, stillbirth, and neonatal loss.

  • Keep accurate and current medical records for all patients.

  • Maintain active hospital delivery privileges as required.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree or higher in nursing with a focus on midwifery.

  • An active Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Certification as a Nurse Midwife (CNM) from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).

  • Preferred qualifications include an Illinois license, DEA, and CDS.

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Nurse Midwife or in a Labor and Delivery Nurse role is preferred.

Compensation is determined based on years of experience.
