Bellefonte Café – Wilmington, DE
Job Summary
Bellefonte Café is seeking an experienced Bartender/Server to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working both behind the bar and on the floor in a small, fast-moving restaurant environment. Our bar program emphasizes classic cocktails, consistency, and thoughtful hospitality, and our service style is attentive, professional, and guest-focused.
Availability for both day and evening shifts is required. Prior bartending experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Take drink and food orders and provide knowledgeable recommendations to guests
- Prepare classic cocktails, wine, beer, and house specialty drinks with consistency and care
- Serve guests at the bar and at tables as needed during service
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting bar and service area
- Verify legal drinking age and comply with all state and federal alcohol service laws
- Accurately process payments and operate the POS system
- Monitor, restock, and assist with ordering bar inventory and supplies
- Perform opening and closing duties, including cleaning, restocking, and bar prep
- Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience required
- Experience serving tables in a restaurant setting preferred
- Strong working knowledge of classic cocktails and foundational mixology
- Must be comfortable executing classic cocktails accurately without relying on recipes
- Mixology or hospitality certification a plus, but not required
- High school diploma or GED
- Legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
- Excellent attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
- Strong customer service, communication, and time-management skills
- Team-oriented mindset and professional demeanor
