Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team that has been in operation for over 30 years. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with experience in quick service and fine dining environments. This role requires excellent leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to manage daily operations effectively. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will support the Restaurant Manager in ensuring a high-quality dining experience for our guests while maintaining operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Supervise and train staff on food preparation, customer service, and restaurant policies.
- Oversee inventory control, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain financial records.
- Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and reporting.
- Ensure high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
- Support staff development through training programs focused on culinary skills, customer service, and hospitality management.
- Manage shift schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels during peak hours.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the management team on budgeting and financial planning initiatives.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in a supervisory or management role in the restaurant industry
- Proven experience in restaurant management or as an assistant manager in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation, and safety standards.
- Experience with inventory control and cash handling procedures.
- Familiarity with various POS systems.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with guests and staff alike.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
