The Edenton St. UMC Early Childhood Program (ECP) is seeking a dynamic Lead Teacher for our Toddler Classroom beginning in late August 2025. We have an extremely strong Toddler Team, made up of a wonderful Assistant Teacher as well as a seasoned Toddler Lead Teacher in a second classroom, to work along side. We are looking for someone who has experience with Toddlers, or a similar age, as well as experience leading a classroom.

Our program focuses on helping children grow socially and emotionally through a loving play based environment. We strongly believe in the Conscious Discipline Curriculum and the philosophy that all behavior is a form of communication.

The hours for the Toddler Lead Teacher position are 9:00 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Monday through Friday, except the day ends at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesdays. We are closed for all Wake County Traditional Calendar holidays and some teacher work days. This is an hourly position and pay will start at $22.00 per hour.

Applicants should possess a degree in an education field, experience working in a preschool setting (preferably with Toddlers) and experience managing at least one Assistant Teacher. Applicants who have experience with Conscious Discipline would be preferred.
