A-Line is hiring a Full-Time Medical Device Assembly Technician III in Sparks Glencoe, MD 21152! Hiring ASAP! This is Full-Time 40 hours per week.
- Pay Rate: $21.50/hour
- Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Location: Sparks Glencoe, MD 21152 - Must have reliable transportation.
Job Overview
The Instrument Assembly Technician III performs a wide range of production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. This role requires advanced assembly skills, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment. The technician will support multiple product lines, perform inspections and testing, troubleshoot issues, and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, integrate, and support the full instrument assembly process across multiple product lines
- Build and integrate subassemblies into completed instruments
- Maintain accurate device history records, including serial numbers and tooling documentation
- Perform basic component and module testing on pre-assemblies and instruments
- Identify defects and recommend process or design improvements
- Read and interpret drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards
- Provide training and guidance to associates on mechanical assembly and basic testing activities
- Execute basic test instructions, analyze results, and determine pass/fail outcomes
- Perform routine to moderately complex troubleshooting, repair, and rework
- Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing as needed
- Follow all safety, quality, housekeeping, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements
- Handle raw materials and subassemblies using standard material handling procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work mandatory overtime as required to meet business needs
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of manufacturing experience, OR
- Associate’s degree (AA) in a technical field with relevant technical experience
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment required
Required Skills & Competencies
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and train associates
- Strong accountability and focus on results and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated commitment to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Proficiency with mechanical tools (torque drivers, gauges, bits, etc.)
- Strong ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Effective time management across multiple production orders
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment
- Ability to follow detailed quality and safety procedures
- Flexibility to manage frequent assignment changes
Technical & Working Skills
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, and basic math)
- Ability to read charts, diagrams, and technical documentation
- Basic computer skills in a Windows-based environment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in a repetitive environment and stand for extended periods
