UNDERGROUND FIELD INSPECTOR B6/7 (Bellmore, NY)
Starting Pay: $35.96/hr.
Job Duties:
- Inspect and coordinate work associated with the replacement of paving removed for maintenance and construction activities
- Perform field inspection and coordination related to customer service installations and associated work
- Inspect jobsites to evaluate field conditions, prepare work orders, obtain permits, and verify work meets company standards
- Coordinate with contractor crews and review completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance
- Review contractor billing for accuracy
- Identify and document conflicts between public property and company facilities using plans, records, and field inspections
- Recommend corrections and maintain coordination with public agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Maintain records, logs, maps, sketches, and inspection documentation
- Dispatch and coordinate crews for inspection‐related programs
- Perform minor repairs to tools and instruments as needed
- Use pressure recorders and related instruments required for inspection work
- Prepare estimates, sketches, and basic designs for gas facilities as directed
- Perform inspection work using approved aerial technology as required
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and write English and complete basic business documentation
- Ability to maintain records, logs, and inspection documentation
- Working knowledge of basic grammar, spelling, composition, and business writing
- Two (2) years of related experience recommended
- Completion of at least one college‐level course in each of the following:

- Mathematics
- Drafting
- Engineering
- Physics
- Courses must be completed through an accredited college or university and meet employer‐accepted criteria
- Valid New York State Driver’s License
- Ability to work overtime as required by operational needs
- Participation in emergency restoration activities as required
