A bit about us:
A fast-growing, mid-sized company is looking for a Sr. Director of Human Resources to lead its evolving HR function. Over the past five years, the company has scaled from 70 to over 300 employees, and they are now focused on rebuilding infrastructure to support continued growth. This is a newly scoped leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO, and will be a critical partner in reshaping how HR shows up across the organization.
They are growing and investing in their people and processes. The right candidate will step into an environment that’s ready for thoughtful change, with support from leadership to help redefine how HR drives business strategy

Job Details
Key Focus Areas:
- Lead the HR function with a focus on structure, rigor, and future-forward strategy
- Help define the HR org and refine generalist roles (current generalists are too broad; looking for depth in comp/benefits/employee relations)
- Build foundational programs in total rewards, performance management, and employee experience
- Drive clarity on manager capability and the role of HR across the employee lifecycle
- Be a trusted partner to senior leadership, offering data-backed insights to influence decisions
Ideal Background:
- 12–15 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in leadership
- Strong subject matter depth in labor law, compensation, and employee relations (there are outside relationships for legal advice)
- Experience guiding HR structure, organizational design, and people strategy
- Ability to engage with a technical leadership team (engineering-heavy culture)
- Demonstrated success as a business partner at the senior leadership level
Additional Info:
- Remote role (U.S. time zones only; not eligible to sit in CA)
- Compensation: $160–205K base + bonus + equity participation
- Reports directly to the CEO
- Degree required; HR certifications helpful but not required
