Alexandria, MN - 4th shift, Friday-Sunday, 7:00am-7:00pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead with Servant Leadership Characteristics
- Model and support the company’s vision and strategies
- Align with leadership on annual AI machine shop goals
- Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
- Continuously build relationships throughout the department and company in order to best serve and support co-workers and employees
- Ensure other departments are informed of any delays or changes in the schedules
- Provide leadership to department team members:
- Communicate priorities and project assignments
- Implement adequate cross-training
- Work with Supervisor to provide education, training and development opportunities
- Provide coaching to employees to support their growth within their position and the company
- Ensure expectations and responsibilities are known and followed
- Monitor employee performance and assist with employee performance reviews
- Delegate special projects
- Participate in the interviewing and selection process for department openings as needed
- Identify and implement methods for reducing costs and expenses in the department
- Review and analyze department data and trends to make continuous improvement recommendations
- Apply continuous improvement techniques to improve department operations
- Keep work area clean and orderly using 5S system (standardize, sustain, sort, set in order and shine)
- Set up and run equipment safely and efficiently in order to maximize output while meeting customer quality requirements
- Accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders:
- Review manufacturing orders in order to verify internal and external customer specifications
- Ensure all quality practices are being followed
- Perform inspections
- Package orders based on customer specifications
- Meet delivery schedules to ensure customer service and satisfaction
- Monitor and make correct process changes for packing the product or changing rates
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent degree
- Associates degree in Machine Tool or other related program preferred
- Experience:
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience required
- 1+ years of leadership experience preferred
- Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to recognize safety concerns
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to provide strong servant leadership to support team members
- Ability to take part in continuous education and training
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in every situation
- Strong knowledge and understanding of all key department operations
- Knowledgeable in companywide computer systems and programs
- Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment per designated cell area
- Work flexible hours, overtime and on-call
- Ability to lead and influence others
- Blueprint reading
- Strong math skills
- Ability to detect minor defects in the finish of the product
- Ability to read die drawings and inspect parts according to customer specifications

Starting Wage Range $19.00 - $30.00
