Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Providing specialized care in a dynamic orthopedic and spine surgery setting, this position offers skilled nursing professionals the opportunity to work in a highly regarded Spine, Joint, and International Hip Preservation Center. The role centers around delivering exceptional patient care in a unit equipped with multiple operating rooms focused on complex procedures such as hip, knee, and shoulder replacements, arthroscopic sports medicine cases, and advanced spine surgeries including repairs and fusions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide perioperative nursing care in an orthopedic and spine surgery unit, ensuring patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams, including RNs, CSTs, and ancillary staff, to manage patient flow and surgical schedules effectively.
  • Utilize expertise in orthopedic and spine nursing to assist with complex cases in hip preservation, joint replacements, and spine surgeries.
  • Maintain compliance with unit guidelines and hospital policies.
  • Operate and monitor multiple advanced OR equipment to support diverse surgical interventions.
  • Document patient information accurately using the facilitys EMR system.

Qualifications:

  • Mandatory Orthopedic nursing and/or Spine experience, with demonstrated skills in total joint and sports medicine procedures.
  • Certification requirements: NBSTA (National Board for Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) and DORA (Division of Regulatory Agencies).
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and interact effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with hip preservation procedures, arthroscopic sports medicine, and spine repairs is highly valued.

Schedule:

  • Day shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM

This is a contract role ideally suited for travel nurses or local clinical staff with orthopedic and spine specialization seeking exposure to advanced surgical procedures. Candidates without the necessary orthopedic or spine experience will not be considered.
