Jr. Manufacturing Engineer - Production Supervisor

Onsite: 7am - 4pm EST schedule

Location: Cumberland, RI

This is junior-level role with room to grow!

Position Overview
We are an established leader in manufacturing and have operations across the globe! This role involves leading a team of engineers and operators, optimizing operations, and implementing engineering solutions to improve productivity and reduce waste.

We are looking for an Engineer by trade that will join our organization as a Manufacturing Engineer and do a 6-month immersive program that will then become a Production Supervisor to lead one of our manufacturing divisions. Prior textile, wiring, extrusion, weaving, or braiding experience is preferred, but we are open.

We are coming off of a record year and looking for the right person to dive in and help lead us forward!

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the production team, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in operations.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures that align with ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and optimize layouts using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency.
  • Manage multi-shift operations and coordinate production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
  • Train and mentor team members in manufacturing best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of PLCs and machine controls in the production area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required.
  • 1+ years' experience in manufacturing processes and production supervision.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 (EMS) and IATF 16949 (QMS) standards.
  • Experience with CAD software, specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in team management a plus.
  • Background in textile or wire processing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PLCs and machine controls is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies is preferred.
  • Experience in extrusion, weaving, or braiding processes is a plus.
