Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position in an acute care setting requiring a KS or compact license and strong MS-Tele skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in an acute care setting within the Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool
- Float coverage in multiple adult and geriatric units including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
- Expected to float throughout Zone 4 facilities within a 60 mile radius
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:5-6 based on acuity
- Day shifts with 12-hour schedules
- 6-9 weekend shifts required within each 6-week scheduling period
- May titrate Heparin drips as needed
- Epic EMR system is used
- Care for a variety of adult and geriatric medical and surgical patients with diverse and complex diagnoses
- Required to float between various specialties and acuity levels, potentially including ICU holds within your skillset
- Support from designated charge nurses and nurse aides on each unit
- Orientation includes the expectation to be in-state during the week of orientation, even if some parts are remote
- Possible inclusion in holiday rotation for coverage needs
- All time off requests should be submitted before the assignment begins
- Travelers are responsible for securing housing that enables compliance with floating requirements

- Active KS or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience within the past 3 years
- Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS
- Experience with Epic and Alaris preferred
- Must submit a copy of driver's license for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years
- Must comply with a 60 mile residence radius from the float zone’s city center
- Cannot have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI or Dignity within the past year
