The Pultrusion Utility Operator is a technical role involving the operation of pultrusion machines. Team members are tasked with ensuring smooth production while maintaining Pella quality standards. These tasks include the rolling, cutting, and splicing of mat material with a sewing machine while maintaining a creel and tying in doffs. Assisting with machine cleanups, setups, troubleshooting, and machine adjustments are important aspects of this position. Attention to detail and monitoring machine performance is a vital part of this role. The ability to use measuring tools on finished product and addressing quality defects is expected.
1st shift: 6:45 am -7:15 pm
3rd shift: 6:45 pm -7:15 am
12-hour shifts
36 hours one week & 48 hours the next week 2 days ON, 2 days OFF, 3 days ON, 2 days OFF
- New hires will have check-ins at 60 days to ensure they have the support and resources needed for success. This check-in does not affect pay, as pay increases occur at 90 days and 6 months after hire.
- Performance evaluations happen the month before your service anniversary
Requirements:
- Candidates should have hands-on experience adjusting machine settings.
- Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Machine operation experience is essential. (2+ years)
- Familiarity with working on a variety of machines.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Preferred Backgrounds:
- Maintenance Technician experience, particularly with troubleshooting or setting up machines.
- Knowledge of electrical systems is a plus.
- Pultrusion/Injection molding experience - a plus
- Experience with machine parts or automotive parts manufacturing machines.
