Responsibilities:

  • Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages in an inpatient hospital setting
  • Enter patient and specimen information into computer systems accurately
  • Process and package specimens for transport to reference laboratories
  • Assist the medical technologist in routine laboratory functions
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state healthcare guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment
  • Support the laboratory supervisor in meeting operational needs
  • Provide dependable, quality service to both patients and medical staff

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of full-time phlebotomy experience preferred, not required
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Must comply with state immunization requirements
  • Ability to pass a drug screening and fingerprinting background check
  • Completion of facility and state-mandated training prior to start

Shift:

  • Typically Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM, with possible adjustments based on hospital needs
  • No nights, weekends, or holiday shifts required
