Cost Accountant | Kentwood, MI
Salary Range: $67,000 - $101,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and trends to identify areas for improvement.
- Perform inventory valuation and reconcile physical inventory counts with system records.
- Prepare detailed cost reports, including product profitability and cost of goods sold analysis.
- Investigate and explain significant cost variances, recommending corrective actions.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and cost forecasts.
- Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation and month-end close processes.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with advanced ERP costing modules (e.g., SAP CO, Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O)
- Proficiency in data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience with SQL for data extraction and analysis
