Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for an Elementary Special Education Teacher to support a dynamic special education program within an elementary school setting in Clinton Township, MI. The position is a full-time contract role through 6/11/2026 with up to 40 hours per week, focusing on a resource room and a creative learning program designed to meet diverse student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction in a resource room environment for elementary students.
- Deliver services in a self-contained special education classroom, supporting both lower and older elementary students.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to a range of learning abilities.
- Collaborate with educational staff to ensure effective instructional strategies and student progress.
- Maintain accurate records and communication relating to student performance and program requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Education required; Masters or Doctoral degree in Special Education is preferred.
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsementssubstitute licenses are not acceptable.
- Experience working with diverse student populations is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in classroom management and differentiated instruction.
