Our organization is excited to announce openings for two Full-Time Physicians specializing in Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine. These positions are available in our vibrant and collaborative medical teams located in Staten Island and Suffern.
The Selikoff Centers serve as the clinical foundation of the Division of Occupational Medicine within the Department of Environmental Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine. Our mission focuses on the prevention and treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses, conducting approximately 30,000 clinical visits each year across various locations, including Manhattan, Staten Island, Suffern, and Yonkers. We are currently looking to fill one full-time role in Staten Island and another in Suffern.
As part of the New York State Department of Health's Occupational Health Clinic Network, our centers are recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health as Clinical Centers of Excellence for the World Trade Center Health Program.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based clinical assessments and treatments for work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Provide outpatient care and management for illnesses related to the World Trade Center disaster.
- Conduct medical screenings for groups exposed to hazardous materials, including asbestos and lead.
- Perform disability evaluations and depositions as necessary.
- Oversee the work of ancillary providers.
The ideal candidate will possess the expertise to evaluate and treat occupational injuries and illnesses, particularly those associated with the World Trade Center. This includes assessing whether patients' conditions are significantly linked to their exposure at the disaster site and certifying exposure-disease relationships for federal agencies involved in the WTC Health Program.
Additionally, the physician will assess patients for work-related disorders as a credentialed provider for workers' compensation and must be capable of determining fitness for duty and conducting disability assessments related to occupational illnesses.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid New York State Medical License.
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Pulmonary Medicine.
- Candidates in Preventive Medicine with at least three years of recent direct patient care experience will also be considered.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from $210,000 to $235,000, excluding bonuses, incentive compensation, or benefits.
Salary Disclosure: Our organization provides a salary range in compliance with New York City’s Salary Transparency law. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as experience, specialty, historical productivity, and community needs. Therefore, the final salary may be closer to either end of the range or, in some cases, outside of it. The listed salary range pertains to full-time employment and does not include bonuses or benefits.
