Position: Ongoing Reliability Testing Manager – HSIO OverPass Products

Location: Valley Green, PA

Amphenol is one of the largest manufacturers of interconnect products in the world. Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical interconnect solutions serving the Telecom/Datacom markets (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products enable the electronics revolution and support major Tier 1 OEMs globally.

We are seeking an Ongoing Reliability Testing Manager to lead reliability strategy, testing execution, and continuous improvement initiatives for HSIO OverPass products. This role is responsible for managing reliability engineering resources supporting global manufacturing plants, strengthening inspection methodologies, and ensuring products consistently meet customer, industry, and internal quality standards throughout their lifecycle.

This position is based in Valley Green, PA, with collaboration across domestic and international manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities

Ongoing Reliability Program Ownership

  • Own the ongoing reliability testing program for HSIO OverPass products, including released configurations and production variants.
  • Develop and maintain reliability monitoring plans to ensure long-term product integrity in both manufacturing and customer applications.
  • Define test frequency, sampling requirements, and qualification/monitoring standards aligned with customer requirements and internal quality systems.
  • Ensure consistent execution of reliability testing and inspection methodologies across global manufacturing locations.

Manufacturing Leadership & Plant Support

  • Lead, mentor, and develop reliability engineers supporting HSIO OverPass manufacturing sites.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to proactively identify and mitigate reliability and overall quality related risks.
  • Provide technical leadership for investigations related to yield excursions, material or process changes, supplier changes, and field return trends.
  • Drive standardization of reliability validation processes and inspection practices across all manufacturing locations.

Continuous Improvement & Quality Methodologies

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality inspection methodologies, defect detection effectiveness, and reliability test robustness.
  • Evaluate and improve in-process and final inspection strategies to reduce escapes and strengthen prevention.
  • Apply structured problem-solving tools (DMAIC, 8D, statistical analysis) to drive sustainable process and reliability improvements.
  • Strengthen control plans, inspection criteria, sampling strategies, and measurement system effectiveness (MSA).
  • Promote data-driven decision-making to improve reliability confidence while optimizing cycle time and cost of quality.
  • Champion a forward-looking mindset that advances state-of-the-art inspection systems and modern quality methodologies, positioning HSIO OverPass products at the forefront of manufacturing excellence and reliability performance.

Operational Metrics & Business Impact

  • Drive measurable improvements in manufacturing and quality performance, including:
    • Reduction in DPPM and customer escapes
    • Improved First Pass Yield (FPY)
    • Reduced scrap, rework, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
    • Improved reliability pass rates and product stability
  • Establish, monitor, and communicate KPIs related to inspection effectiveness, reliability trends, and corrective action closure.

Failure Analysis & Corrective Action

  • Lead failure analysis and root cause investigations for reliability test failures, production issues, and field returns.
  • Ensure effective implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving teams involving engineering, quality, suppliers, and operations.
  • Provide clear communication of risks, mitigation plans, and performance trends to leadership and customers.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Prepare and present reliability and quality performance updates to internal leadership and external customers.
  • Support audits, customer escalations, and reliability-related technical reviews.
  • Serve as the primary reliability contact for sustaining HSIO OverPass product performance in manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 8–15 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Quality management experience with strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated history of working with teams across multiple geographies, including international locations.
  • Experience supporting or working within Asia manufacturing locations is a plus.
  • Proven leadership in continuous improvement initiatives, including enhancement of quality inspection methodologies and formal quality management programs (DMAIC, 8D).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Minitab or other statistical analysis software.
  • Strong understanding of product documentation and technical drawings, with emphasis on GD&T.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor and interconnect industry manufacturing processes, inspection standards, and quality control systems.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a cross-functional, global environment.
  • Ability to operate at an extreme pace to support rapid growth, driven by the global AI hardware infrastructure expansion.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, able to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities and drive initiatives from concept through execution with measurable results.
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (Asia) on occasion (approximately 25%).
