Compensation: up to $55 per hour

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 3rd Grade English & Language Arts Teacher to join a growing public charter school in Plainfield, NJ. What You’ll Do

Deliver creative and rigorous ELA instruction aligned with state standards for 3rd grade.

Teach reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and foundational literacy skills.

Use structured literacy practices and small-group instruction to support diverse learners.

Develop and implement lesson plans that build students’ confidence and independence as readers and writers.

Utilize data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction to ensure mastery.

Encourage a classroom culture that promotes curiosity, collaboration, and a genuine love for reading.

Integrate technology and literature-based activities to enhance engagement.

Collaborate with grade-level teams on curriculum development and instructional planning.

Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives.

Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.
What You’ll Bring
Required:
-
Valid New Jersey Standard Teacher Certificate or CE/CEAS/Limited CE in Elementary Education or related field

Strong knowledge of early literacy instruction and reading development

Effective classroom management and ability to build warm, supportive relationships

Excellent communication, planning, and organization skills
-
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching practices

Successful criminal background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency
Preferred:
-
Experience teaching ELA in an elementary or charter school setting

Familiarity with structured literacy or balanced literacy approaches

Experience designing reading and writing interventions or enrichment materials
