Position Title: Admissions Officer
Department: Growth Office Reports To: Director of Admissions
Primary Location: Washington, DC FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Parameters: Full-time; 12 months/year Pay Range: $40,000
Position Summary: An administrative position for Bay Atlantic University. Responsible for the institutions development of external relationships and marketing program.
Execute marketing and relationship development strategy for Bay Atlantic University with the following goals:
Increase new enrollments and enrollment inquiries
Work with additional Administrative Staff to perform on- and offline marketing efforts
Network, build, and maintain relationships with new and existing partnerships for recruiting and program support from around the world

Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluate and turn applications into registered students.
Communicate with students, agents, friends, and family to keep them engaged during the application and admissions process.
Provide guidance to all prospective students during the application and admissions process.
Assist the Senior Admissions Officer with daily tasks and application follow-up.
Provide support to the Admissions office and additional administrative staff as requested, including housing, activities, external relations, and/or academics.
Keep track of student needs and provide support during the visa application process and when the students travel to the US.
Answer phone calls and direct callers to the appropriate point of contact within the office and/or answer common questions related to the school and academic programming.
Assist the Registrar with preparing incoming student files.
Assist the school in handling early and/or late class times or student groups that meet outside of class.
Check and respond to general requests that come to Bay Atlantic University/Mentora info email account.
Help maintain professionalism and cleanliness in the school by taking routine checks of the classroom and common areas.
Welcome and direct visitors to the appropriate location for meetings and/or appointments.
Work with the front desk staff as needed, providing coverage during breaks, and assisting when the front desk is very busy.
Completes other assignments as instructed.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Ability to communicate, influence, and convert prospects
Knowledge of CRM software (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot)
Experience with MS Office (particularly Excel)
Ability to deliver custom solutions depending on customer needs
Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at a time, while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to speak a second language is a plus
Display ability to complete tasks and maintain professionalism and confidentiality if required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures.
Knowledge of current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of recruiting, job placement and/or career advising techniques Knowledge of certification tests used for career assessment.
Knowledge of tools used for student interest and personality type and the ability to interpret results of such tools to assist students in making sound decisions.
Knowledge of the proper operation of and the ability to use personal computers and standard office equipment.
Skill in evaluating a students academic interests and desires to formulate a plan designed to assist the student in achievement of specified career goals.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner.
Ability to relate to a diverse population and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while contributing to team environment.
Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions and take appropriate action, resolve problems using independent judgment and decision-making processes.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other department staff, students, and the public.
Ability to read and interpret policies related to academic programs and student requirements for participation in various programs.
Work Environment: Work is primarily performed under general supervision in an office setting with appropriate climate control. Travel, early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required.
Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting majority of time; walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met
Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills are important.
