Job Description

Self-starter with excellent problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for the plant engineering and maintenance. You will provide guidance and direction for the maintenance department and outside contractors on repairs, capital projects, and operational process issues.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibilities for facility maintenance operations.

  • Oversee with the maintenance supervisor, the maintenance, repair, and PM of plant and auxiliary equipment.

  • Insure computerized maintenance system (CMMS) is utilized to maximum benefit.

  • Assist plant manager in the development of plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates for all capital projects.

  • Supervise outside contractors on all capital and non-capital projects.

  • Coordinate all plant shutdown maintenance and capital projects.

  • Participate in the hiring and training of new employees.

  • Implementation and enforcement of safety and health policies within the department.

  • Manage maintenance expense budget and capital projects budget.

  • Thoroughly familiar with all plant operations.

  • Implementation and sustaining of Lean tools and concepts within department.

  • Will assist operations management with 24/7 on call coverage.

Qualifications

  • BS in engineering or technical area preferred.
  • 10+years experience in engineering or technical related field in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean manufacturing experience and training a plus
  • Proficiency in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, structural, electrical, and maintenance.
  • Strong management, verbal/written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • PC skills
