Salary Range: $112,254.90 - $142,156.86 annually

Job Overview

Our organization is looking for a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner/Clinical Educator to join our Oncology team at the Morris Cancer Center located on the New Brunswick campus.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (mandatory)
  • A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in both inpatient and outpatient Oncology settings.
  • Certification in the nursing specialty relevant to the NPDP role (mandatory)
  • At least 2 years of experience in the nursing specialty pertinent to the NPDP role (mandatory)

Preferred:

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or enrollment in an MSN program nearing completion; Doctorate preferred
  • NPDPs in specific specialty areas may have additional job-specific qualifications, as applicable

Certifications and Licenses

  • Current BLS and ACLS Certification
  • Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey

Scheduling Requirements

  • Day Shift
  • Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend commitments
  • Full-Time

Essential Functions

  • Design and implement orientation plans, develop continuing education programs, and conduct in-service training in line with NJ Board of Nursing regulations, the Code of Ethics, and institutional policies.
  • Evaluate and implement educational activities/programs for new hires.
  • Maintain employee training records.
  • Act as an educational resource and advocate for learning within the Nursing Division.
  • Ensure compliance with competency requirements set by regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide education that promotes quality and best practices.
  • Design, implement, and assess educational and training programs based on adult learning principles; ensure adherence to regulatory and Provider Unit standards, including contact hour programs and in-service education.
  • Identify and assess skills necessary for competency validation.
  • Communicate information about educational/training programs available through our organization to various departments.
  • Facilitate opportunities for staff to enhance their knowledge in high-risk and challenging situations.
  • Support professional role development and transitions, including the RN Residency Program, nurse externship, and experiences for nursing students.
  • Represent the nursing professional development specialty in hospital-wide/system-wide committees and councils, sharing information as needed.
  • Facilitate learning experiences for nurse externs and nursing students.
  • Encourage and support scholarly inquiry.
  • Contribute to enhancing service quality and productivity.
  • Lead initiatives in Nursing Professional Development to translate evidence-based findings into practical applications.
