POSITION SUMMARY:

Are you passionate about community impact and ready to help feed more children across Southeastern North Carolina? Join us at the YMCA of Southeastern NC as our Food Services Specialist – Partner Sites, where you'll play a key role in the strategic expansion and oversight of our $1.5M+ food service programs.

Working under the guidance of the Director of Food Services, you’ll lead the charge in growing our sponsorship of non-affiliated sites through the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Your mission: strengthen partnerships with other YMCAs, Boys & Girls Clubs, and community organizations—ensuring seamless compliance, strong collaboration, and smart, sustainable growth.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Serve as the primary liaison for non-affiliated CACFP and SFSP partner sites under YMCA sponsorship.

2. Onboard, train, and support partner sites to ensure full compliance with USDA and state regulations.

3. Oversee and monitor partner sites to meet all documentation, reporting, and operational requirements.

4. Support the preparation and submission of CACFP and SFSP claims for reimbursement.

5. Assist in corrective action planning, serious deficiency processes, and follow-up with sites as needed.

6. Maintain up-to-date and accurate records for all monitoring, meal counts, and compliance files.

7. Collaborate with the Director of Food Services on strategic planning for program growth and expansion.

8. Help implement and manage non-congregate meal models in rural areas in accordance with USDA regulations.

9. Support internal team efforts when needed, including inventory support, delivery logistics, and site visits.

10.Participate in audits, state reviews, and all relevant trainings, conferences, and workshops.

11.Represent the YMCA in community outreach and partnership development related to food access.

12.Mentor or support other food program staff as appropriate.

13.Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission, growth, and success of the Food Services Department.

14.Support and actively participate in the YMCA’s Annual Campaign.


QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience with CACFP and/or SFSP administration.

2. Proven experience working with multi-site or partner organizations under USDA sponsorships.

3. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, site monitoring, and claims processing.

4. At least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license.

5. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

6. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and recordkeeping systems.

7. Supervisory or site oversight experience preferred.

8. CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).

9. Experience with rural/non-congregate meal distribution is a plus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities. Be able to physically lift and move boxes that may weigh 20+ pounds on a regular basis.
