Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | Delta Township, MI
Salary Range: $67,000 - $100,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Delta Township that are seeking skilled Environmental Health & Safety Specialists. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Deliver EHS training programs to employees, fostering a strong safety culture.
- Investigate accidents and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage hazardous waste disposal and ensure proper handling of chemicals.
- Maintain accurate EHS records and prepare reports for regulatory agencies and management.
- Collaborate with production teams to integrate EHS best practices into manufacturing processes.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related science/engineering field.
- 3+ years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal/state EHS regulations.
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and develop corrective actions.
- Experience with EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Strong communication and training skills to effectively implement EHS programs.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 management systems
- HAZWOPER certification
- Ergonomics certification or specialized training
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and/or Risk Management Plans (RMP)
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish)
