Job Title: Shop Laborer
Job Description
Join a medium-sized company specializing in the production of overhead cranes and job shop work. The role involves working with various systems, forklifts, cranes, slings, and hooks. You should be prepared to lift up to 75 lbs and perform tasks that require crouching, standing, and twisting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in performing general shop operations across the Rail, Fabrication, Electrification, and Maintenance Departments as dictated by workload demands.
- Follow instructions and directions provided by team leaders and experienced employees.
- Handle materials throughout the shop using cranes and slings.
Essential Skills
- Experience in machine operation, laborer work, and general labor tasks.
- Proficiency with hand tools, construction tools, sandblasting, spray guns, and production equipment.
- Ability to operate power tools, forklifts, grinders, and perform tasks such as grinding, deburring, and working with sheet metal.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Background in manufacturing is desirable.

Work Environment
The work environment includes regular exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required and provided, along with necessary hearing protection. The facility boasts very large ceilings and effective venting systems.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
