Job Description

The position of Quality Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of RBC API’s quality inspection department, including receiving, in-process, final, and shipping inspection and a small team of Quality Assurance personnel.

This position must ensure areas under their supervision maintain RBC API’s compliance to a core set of AS9100 standard elements and customer requirements as defined in internal procedures. This individual will manage a team responsible for executing these core elements and will delegate appropriately based on the competencies, any required 3rd party certifications/delegations, and knowledge/skill base of those individuals. This position will ensure that department areas are achieving objectives for quality and throughput.

This individual must have significant technical inspection experience, significant quality systems and tools experience, and strong verbal and written communications skills. Good computer skills are also necessary. This individual must be capable of training others internal and external to the department. Must have a solid understanding of company products, materials and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise Quality Inspectors, including a small team of Quality Assurance personnel
  • Core AS9100 Element compliance, including but not limited to:
    • Internal Audit Program
    • External Audit Support
    • Supplier Management – Approved Supplier List Maintenance, Supplier Surveys, Onsite QMS Audits, Supplier OTD & Quality Metrics
    • Internal Metrics / KPIs
    • Corrective Action Process
    • New Items & Reactivated Item Quality Planning
    • Delegated Source Inspection & 3rd Party Source Inspection
    • Purchase Order Review
    • Document Retention
  • Customer Requirements compliance, including but not limited to:
    • Delegated Source Inspections
    • 3rd Party Source Inspections
    • FAA DMIR Program
    • Customer Surveys, REACH/RoHS Certifications
    • Control Plans, PCDS, PPAPs, PFMEAs, First Articles, etc

Qualifications

High school graduate, preferably technical school and over 5 years of progressive experience in a quality department in an aerospace manufacturer.
