DEPARTMENT: Borra College of Health Sciences
REPORTS TO: Dean, Borra College of Health Sciences
JOB STATUS: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
LOCATION: On site


PRIMARY PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will work closely with and report to the Dean for the Borra College of Health Sciences to ensure the successful development and completion of accreditation, evaluation and assessment initiatives. The Director will regularly review accreditation standards and elements, identify, and prioritize areas for improvement, and oversee the curriculum analysis and outcomes data to foster opportunities for quality improvement across all specialized accreditors of the BCHS. The Director will oversee the quality improvement efforts to ensure a high-quality medical education program that meets its strategic planning objectives as well as maintenance of accreditation and regulatory standards.

JOB COMPONENTS/PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and support the development and submission of on-going specialized accreditation processes and reporting requirements for all BCHS programs
  • Develop and mature plans for continuous quality improvement in the Borra College of Health Sciences, specifically as related to the strategic plan, the core competencies, and accreditation standards and elements.
  • Maintain data collection, databases and documentation relevant to accreditation requirements
  • Lead quality improvement data summits, regular meetings and sessions across BCHS programs to discuss data/outcomes, compliance, & priorities and ensure readiness for all self-studies and annual reporting
  • Monitor changes in accreditation standards and support BCHS programs in applying new standards and accreditor expectations
  • Oversee annual and interim reporting to accrediting bodies.
  • Analyze and communicate trends, outcomes, strengths, and weaknesses pertinent to accreditation to key stakeholders in the Borra College of Health Sciences.
  • Work with the College leadership and faculty to develop and/or update policies required by accrediting bodies.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to BCHS faculty and staff to monitor student learning outcomes and direct initiatives to improve curriculum, assessment and evaluation strategies.
  • Report to and work closely with the Dean and leadership team to facilitate strategic changes in the curriculum to enhance and improve medical education based on outcomes data and analysis.
  • Perform other duties as delegated/assigned by the Dean; as an example, facilitating/implementing special projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • All qualifications are required unless otherwise indicated.
  • Master’s degree with preference given to experience in assessment, accreditation, institutional research, and program evaluation.
  • 3-5 years of responsible progressive experience in higher education administration
  • Experience with program evaluation, strategic planning, and continuous quality improvement programs
  • Experience with national/state/local accreditation processes for a program or school.
  • Must be committed to fostering an equitable and inclusive working and learning environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a leadership team and with a variety of people.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology tools and data analysis skills, including Excel, statistical analysis tools (i.e., SPSS, R, IBM Cognos, etc.), learning management systems (Canvas) and student information systems/relational databases
  • Experience with assessment and professional accreditation standards and processes.
  • Experience with curriculum development.
  • Evidence of outstanding communication and writing skills.
  • A record showing the potential to provide vision and leadership to academic programs and student services.
