Overview

We are working with a well-established and growing specialty building materials manufacturing company in Dallas that is looking to add an experienced Estimator to their team. This is a high-volume, fast-paced role supporting commercial projects across Texas and the entire East Coast. The right candidate will come directly from the construction/building material industry and be able to hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up time. If you have strong industry knowledge, can read blueprints and architectural drawings, and thrive in a busy, production-driven environment, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, schematics, and spec sheets to support accurate project costing
  • Prepare quotes and estimates for commercial customers across a national territory
  • Handle a high volume of projects daily, managing calls, emails, and faxes from customers in a timely and professional manner
  • Perform customer take-offs and calculate project costs by evaluating labor, materials, and time requirements
  • Enter orders and maintain accurate records within the ERP system
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies through thorough analysis and communication with internal teams
  • Prepare reports by collecting, reviewing, and summarizing data and project trends
  • Support team objectives and contribute to overall operational performance

Requirements

  • Experience in the building materials/construction industry is highly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and spec sheets
  • Experience with estimating software such as Glazier Studios or Bluebeam is a strong plus
  • Any ERP experience is acceptable; Microsoft Dynamics 365 is used, but is trainable
  • Commercial experience only, residential background will not be considered
  • High-volume estimating experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be authorized to work in the US, no visa sponsorship available
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required

Ideal Candidate

  • Comes with solid industry experience and does not require extensive training on glazing fundamentals
  • Has demonstrated job stability and a track record of commitment with previous employers
  • Is self-sufficient, proactive, and comfortable managing a high volume of projects under consistent deadlines
  • Takes pride in accuracy, attention to detail, and delivering quality work in a fast-paced environment
