Overview
We are working with a well-established and growing specialty building materials manufacturing company in Dallas that is looking to add an experienced Estimator to their team. This is a high-volume, fast-paced role supporting commercial projects across Texas and the entire East Coast. The right candidate will come directly from the construction/building material industry and be able to hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up time. If you have strong industry knowledge, can read blueprints and architectural drawings, and thrive in a busy, production-driven environment, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, schematics, and spec sheets to support accurate project costing
- Prepare quotes and estimates for commercial customers across a national territory
- Handle a high volume of projects daily, managing calls, emails, and faxes from customers in a timely and professional manner
- Perform customer take-offs and calculate project costs by evaluating labor, materials, and time requirements
- Enter orders and maintain accurate records within the ERP system
- Identify and resolve discrepancies through thorough analysis and communication with internal teams
- Prepare reports by collecting, reviewing, and summarizing data and project trends
- Support team objectives and contribute to overall operational performance
Requirements
- Experience in the building materials/construction industry is highly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and spec sheets
- Experience with estimating software such as Glazier Studios or Bluebeam is a strong plus
- Any ERP experience is acceptable; Microsoft Dynamics 365 is used, but is trainable
- Commercial experience only, residential background will not be considered
- High-volume estimating experience strongly preferred
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must be authorized to work in the US, no visa sponsorship available
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required
