POSITION SUMMARY
The Graduate Recruiter plays a key role in developing and executing recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates to Niagara University's graduate programs. In collaboration with the Graduate Admissions Team, this position organizes and represents the university at recruitment events, builds strong relationships with academic institutions and stakeholders, and provides accurate, timely information to prospective students. The recruiter also supports marketing efforts by managing promotional materials and maintaining detailed records of recruitment activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract prospective students to a wide range of graduate programs.
- Represent the university at approximately 50 events annually, including graduate fairs, information sessions, and recruitment activities both on and off campus, and virtually.
- Build and maintain relationships with key partners including undergraduate institutions, faculty, advisors, career services professionals, and other educational stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with prospective students regarding program offerings, admissions requirements, deadlines, and application processes.
- Track, organize, and maintain accurate and updated versions of graduate recruitment materials, including program flyers, brochures, and fact sheets.
- Coordinate updates to promotional materials with academic departments and university marketing, ensuring timely revisions and consistent branding across platforms.
- Assist with the distribution of recruitment materials at events and through digital channels.
- Maintain detailed records of student interactions and event participation to inform outreach strategies and ensure data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Graduate Admissions Team to support enrollment goals and contribute to team initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and strategic objectives of the Graduate Studies Office.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Some graduate study required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in recruitment, admissions, student affairs, or a related field; experience in higher education preferred.
- Strong public speaking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and CRM systems (Slate experience preferred).
- Ability to travel for recruitment events and work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation required.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION – % OF TIME
- 60% – Develop and execute recruitment strategies; conduct outreach and follow-up with prospective students; maintain records of engagement.
- 25% – Plan, coordinate, and attend graduate fairs, information sessions, and virtual/in-person events; manage logistics and materials.
- 10% – Coordinate and update recruitment materials with internal stakeholders; assist with marketing content and distribution.
- 5% – Other duties as assigned, including administrative support and team collaboration.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Typical office environment with regular use of a computer, phone, and other office equipment.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and travel as needed.
- Occasional lifting of materials or event supplies (up to 25 lbs).
- Evening or weekend hours may be required to attend recruitment events.
