Job Title: Patient Escort
Position Type: Contract (W2)
Pay Range: $20/hour (W2)
Location: Jamaica, NY 11432
Shift: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Equipment: Wheelchairs, Stretchers, Hydraulic Stretchers
Required Education & Certifications (Mandatory)
• High School Diploma or GED (REQUIRED)
• Current CPR Certification (REQUIRED)
Required Skills & Experience (Mandatory)
• Minimum 2 years of Patient Escort or relevant healthcare support experience (REQUIRED)
• Experience with wheelchair handling and patient transport (REQUIRED)
• Ability to safely handle stretchers and hydraulic stretchers (REQUIRED)
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written English) (REQUIRED)
• Ability to lift and assist patients safely (REQUIRED)
• Strong patient interaction and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Reliable attendance and punctuality (REQUIRED)
Preferred Skills
• Prior experience in hospital or ambulatory care settings
• Experience handling multiple patient transport requests efficiently
Job Description / Responsibilities
• Safely escort hospital and ambulatory patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or hydraulic stretcher
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and timely transport across departments
• Communicate effectively with clinical staff, patients, and families
• Follow hospital protocols for patient handling and transport procedures
• Maintain equipment in proper working condition and report issues as needed
• Support overall patient flow and operational efficiency within the facility
Additional Requirements
• Must be available to work alternate weekends (REQUIRED)
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks including lifting and movement of patients
• Strong teamwork and coordination with hospital staff
