Job Title: Lab Technician – PC / IT Support

Location: Boise, ID (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $25–$28 per hour (based on experience)

Job Type: Contract-to-hire (6 months with potential for extension or conversion)

Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
First shift with flexible start time between 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM

Overview:
This hands-on technical support role operates within an engineering lab environment supporting a team of approximately 60–70 engineers. You will be part of a small technician team responsible for preparing, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting pre-release systems used for engineering validation. This position blends desk-based coordination with physical, hands-on lab work and is best suited for someone with a strong technical foundation and a practical, problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, build, configure, and deploy pre-release PC systems from vendors
  • Prepare systems for use in engineering validation environments
  • Support engineers and validation teams with hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Manage systems throughout their lifecycle, including intake, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Perform lab operations tasks such as equipment setup, system relocation, and inventory tracking
  • Maintain accurate documentation of systems, assets, and activities
  • Ensure compliance with lab safety, ESD, calibration, and maintenance standards
  • Handle physical tasks including unpacking shipments, moving equipment, and organizing lab storage

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a PC Technician, IT Support Technician, Lab Technician, or similar technical support role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of PC hardware, including building, configuring, and troubleshooting systems
  • Basic understanding of IT concepts, including software and networking fundamentals
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with delicate hardware and specialized equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes
  • Ability to adapt quickly and reprioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, hands-on lab setting
