Town of Monument
Our mission is to provide leadership that delivers municipal services responsibly, while inspiring public confidence to achieve our vision of the future. The Town of Monument is focused on meeting the communitys needs with the utmost integrity, a sense of obligation to service, and responsibility. In doing so, the Town will be held accountable and respect the diversity and values of our constituents.
Posting
The Monument Police Department is only as effective and professional as the officers we employ. We are looking for those officers who want to make a difference for their community while seeing their command staff has their back through demonstrable actions. With that in mind, we endeavor to empower and value our officers and their families. Officers would be hard-pressed to find a community anywhere that supports their police force the way the citizens of Monument do. They demonstrate it with sales tax revenue that goes directly to the department to keep the community safe and protected. Officers enjoy a generous time-off policy and a paid holiday bank of hours at the beginning of the calendar year. Most officers work a 4-on, 3-off, 10-hour schedule while earning sick and vacation time on top of it.
Monument PD has numerous patrol officer positions as well as specialty positions such as Detective, Community Resource Officer, Field Training Officer, Tactical Patrol Officer, and maintains a Designated Marksman Program. Many of our officers are instructors in varying fields, such as Krav Maga, DTAC, Certified Range Masters, Active Shooter, Taser, and Less Than Lethal Use of Force. Our officers are well- trained to respond to any type of police incident. Our officers are well-equipped and have numerous opportunities to attend a variety of training courses.
MPD is hiring police officers in good standing who have previously been employed by a civilian police force in the USA with a minimum of three years as a sworn patrol officer to qualify for MPD's lateral pay rate, but are also interested in patrol officers in good standing employed by a civilian police force to come in at our "new hire" rate.
