Position Title: Production Planner

Department: Supply Chain Management

Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

Wage Range: $33.00-$39.00

Shift: Days, Monday-Friday

The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and maintaining production schedules that ensure on-time customer deliveries while maximizing production efficiency. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role works cross-functionally with Operations, Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Manufacturing to align production capacity, material availability, and customer demand. The Production Planner serves as the primary point of contact for production commitment dates, proactively communicates schedule changes or risks, and identifies root causes of scheduling issues to drive continuous improvement. This position plays a key role in capacity planning, inventory control, and process improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Schedule all areas to ensure on-time deliveries for customers at the highest rate of production efficiency possible.
  • Provides clear definition of production demand to Plant leadership for manning purposes.
  • Participates in the development of detailed, achievable production schedules, measures and reports performance to schedule.
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates production through affected areas such as inventory control, manufacturing and project management.
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations and Purchasing to meet customer demand. Support sales goals, inventory control and capacity forecasting.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of materials and components as required to support the production floor to insure clean to build.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for commitment dates.
  • Communicate proactively with affected internal customers as issues occur.
  • Identifying root causes of scheduling problems and correcting them.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Developing and implementing process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in planning and scheduling preferably in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience using an Epicor ERP system or four (4) years using integrated (MRP/ERP) system.
  • Understanding of master scheduling and forecasting processes.
  • Possess excellent verbal communication skills both verbal and written, to support effective correspondence with internal as well as external customers.
  • Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks to completion.
  • Ability to interact with various internal departments.
  • Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency using MS Office software i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook.
