Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An elementary school in Lowell, MA is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to support inclusion students in a vibrant school environment. This contract position spans a full semester, beginning ASAP and tentatively ending by the close of the 2025-2026 school year.

The role involves managing a caseload of 14-15 inclusion students, delivering specialized instruction tailored to their unique learning needs. You will work on-site during standard school hours, 8:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, totaling 32.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to support inclusion and differentiated instruction
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with state and district reporting requirements
  • Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth
  • Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with families

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Massachusetts teaching license and certifications in Special Education
  • Previous school-based experience in an elementary setting is required
  • Spanish speaking is preferred but not mandatory
  • CORI background check and fingerprints are necessary; letter of suitability from a prior employer may be accepted for fingerprints
  • Capability to engage in a Zoom interview process
