Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Current teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Previous experience working with middle school-aged students.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with both push-in and pull-out service models.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate students progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring that educational goals are met.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide direct support to students through push-in and pull-out services, facilitating their access to the curriculum.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and challenges.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
