Professionally, you will be part of a dynamic adult psychiatric unit with 30 beds, serving patients aged 18 to 65 with varied mental health diagnoses, such as anxiety, bipolar disorder, dual diagnoses, and more. Work alongside multidisciplinary teams who value progressive approaches and innovative leadership, and gain exposure to the latest electronic medical records with EPIC. Expand your resume as you hone both charge nurse responsibilities and direct patient care skills, preparing admissions, managing discharges, navigating complex dual-diagnosis cases, and supporting medically acute needs.
Schedule/Hours:
- 36 hours per week
- Rotating shifts: 7a–7p, 11a–11p, & 7p–7a (rotation required for Day/Eve; not required for Night)
- Every other weekend
Your Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- Current AHA BLS certification
- At least 2 years of recent inpatient adult psychiatric nursing experience
- Proficiency with Omni Cell medication dispensing system and psychotropic medications
- Experience in charge nurse duties and admissions/discharges
- Competence in IV pump use and diabetic care
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to adults in varied states of psychiatric and medical acuity
- Safely administer psychotropic medications and monitor side effects
- Provide leadership in a charge nurse capacity as assigned
- Complete all required documentation in EPIC EMR
- Float as needed within scope of assignment
