Job DescriptionPay Rate: up to 65/hr combined (taxable hourly + tax-free allowances for travel, housing, meals). Rates may vary and are subject to client changes. Cardiac Pulmonary Registered Nurse (RN)Position SummaryThe Cardiac Pulmonary Registered Nurse provides specialized care to patients with cardiac and respiratory conditions, including heart failure, myocardial infarction, COPD, pneumonia, and post-cardiac procedure recovery. The RN is responsible for ongoing assessment, monitoring, and intervention to promote stabilization and recovery while educating patients and families on disease management and prevention.This role requires a blend of strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute or step-down environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver skilled nursing care to patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary diagnoses in accordance with physician orders and evidence-based standards.Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respiratory status, identifying and responding promptly to changes in patient condition.Administer medications, including cardiac drips, diuretics, anticoagulants, and respiratory treatments.Manage patients requiring oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, nebulizer treatments, or telemetry monitoring.Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team—including physicians, respiratory therapy, and rehabilitation services—to coordinate patient care plans.Provide patient and family education related to cardiac and pulmonary disease processes, lifestyle modification, and discharge planning.Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Participate in continuing education and unit-based quality improvement initiatives.QualificationsEducation: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).Licensure: Current, unencumbered RN license in state of practice.Certifications:BLS and ACLS requiredNIH Stroke Scale and Telemetry certification preferredExperience: Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care experience requiredExperience in cardiac, telemetry, or pulmonary unit preferred
