Salary Range: $62,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Grandville seeking CNC Mill Programmers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and test CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis milling machines.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters.
• Optimize programs for efficiency, tool life, and surface finish.
• Perform simulations and make necessary program adjustments.
• Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot and refine processes.
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Document program changes, setup sheets, and operational procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficient in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, Fusion 360) for generating toolpaths.
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming for 3-axis and multi-axis CNC mills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models to determine machining requirements.
• Knowledge of various cutting tools, their applications, and optimal feeds and speeds for different materials.
• Experience with in-process inspection and quality control techniques to ensure part accuracy.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CNC mill programming within a manufacturing environment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with 5-axis machining and programming
• Proficiency in a second CAD/CAM software (e.g., Catia, SolidWorks, etc.)
• CMM operation or programming experience
• Knowledge of G-code editing and optimization at the machine control
• Familiarity with automation systems (e.g., robotics, pallet changers)
