The City of St. Helena is located in the center of the world-famous wine-growing Napa Valley, 65 miles north of San Francisco. The City receives many visitors due to the wine industry and the area's scenic qualities and has become an important business and banking center for the wine industry.

The City is looking for an experienced leader with excellent interpersonal and management skills to plan, organize, coordinate, direct the operations and activities of the Library Division, and provide professional and technical assistance to the public. The Deputy Director will serve as staff to the Library Board of Trustees, the Napa Valley Wine Library Board, and the Friends & Foundation SHPL Board.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the library field, think strategically, make sound decisions, coordinate long-range planning, and successfully deliver services to the community. The best candidate will promote staff development, foster a team environment through collaboration and respectful management, and support the City Council Goals.
