Under the general oversight of the Manager of Co-worker Health, the Co-worker Health Nurse is responsible for delivering essential health services to our team members. This role is performed in alignment with our core mission, values, and service standards.

Position Overview
The Co-worker Health Nurse is crucial in ensuring the well-being of our team members from their first day. This role focuses on maintaining the health and safety of our workforce through thorough health services and adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and oversee all health services for co-workers in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Conduct health evaluations for new employees, which include drug screenings, reviewing medical histories, lab tests, chest X-rays (if necessary), and verifying immunizations.
  • Administer and oversee TB screening programs to ensure compliance with state mandates.
  • Conduct respirator fit testing and provide necessary training.
  • Facilitate and promote annual flu vaccinations and other immunizations, ensuring team members are aware of contraindications, potential side effects, and necessary precautions.
  • Deliver first aid and coordinate care for workplace injuries, collaborating with departments to create safe return-to-work strategies.
  • May act as the Workers’ Compensation coordinator, overseeing injury reporting, treatment facilitation, and adherence to state regulations.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality regarding health records, drug tests, and medical information.
  • Compile and present monthly and annual reports to satisfy Joint Commission and state health department requirements.
  • Stay informed about co-worker health regulations and revise policies as necessary.
  • Engage in wellness and safety initiatives through committee involvement.
  • Communicate effectively with clear and precise verbal and written updates.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with our mission, values, and service standards.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Active RN license in the state of practice.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of hospital or clinical experience; 3 years of current clinical experience is preferred.
  • Certifications: Current BLS certification is required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities; capacity to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively.
