Assignment Details

  • Duration: 13 Weeks

  • Schedule: Day Shift | 3 shifts per week | Every other weekend

  • Shift Time: 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week (12.5-hour shifts)

  • Department: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)

Compensation Package

  • Weekly Gross: $2,785

  • W2 Rate: $20/hour

  • Weekly Stipend: $2,065

Position Overview

A hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical ICU for a 13-week day-shift contract. The RN will provide high-acuity care to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary ICU teams to deliver safe, evidence-based care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill Medical ICU patients.

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuous monitoring.

  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products per protocol.

  • Perform and assist with conscious sedation procedures.

  • Initiate and manage IV access and perform phlebotomy as required.

  • Monitor patient responses and promptly intervene during clinical deterioration.

  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff.

  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.

  • Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and ICU best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Active New York State RN License

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN)

  • Minimum 2 years of ICU / Critical Care experience

  • Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience

  • Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience

  • AHA BLS Certification

  • AHA ACLS Certification
