Bookkeeper (Part-Time)

Pay: $25 – $30 an hour

Location: In-Person (Ann Arbor)

Hours: Part-time, 15-20 hrs a week

Great Outdoors is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial operations of our landscape and lawn maintenance business. This role is ideal for someone with experience in service-based industries who can work independently and ensure accurate financial tracking, billing, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable

  • Record customer payments (checks, credit cards, ACH).
  • Record deposits to income in QuickBooks.
  • Record prepayments to monthly income
  • Monitor aging reports and assist in collection of overdue accounts.

Accounts Payable and Inventory

  • Enter and categorize vendor bills
  • Track due dates and prepare a list of payments for approval.
  • Reconcile credit card and vendor statements.
  • Reconcile inventory balances

Payroll Support

  • Collect and verify weekly time sheets from field crews.
  • Coordinate with payroll service provider to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Complete payroll journal entry

Fixed Assets

  • Record fixed asset purchases and maintain monthly depreciation entry.
  • Update insurance records with fixed asset additions.
  • Update Asset Tracking Monthly for insurance, depreciation, costs, years of service

Banking and Reconciliation

  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts weekly.
  • Reconcile bank and auto loans

Reporting

  • Compile and submit budget reporting to the Leadership Team.
  • Assist in gathering data for EOS L10 Finance Team meetings.
  • Assist with Profit Sharing reporting
  • Support CPA with year-end close and tax documents.
  • Assist with compilation of annual budget and enter budget into QuickBooks.
  • Assist with Prosult reporting.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in landscaping, construction, or service-based industries.
  • Background and credit check required.
  • Extremely knowledgeable in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven experience improving processes in a business setting.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Preparing the trial balances
