Machinist Job Summary:
Operates milling machines but also has the knowledge of tooling and materials required to create set ups on machine tools such as milling machines, grinders, lathes, and drilling machines.
Responsibilities:
- Make adjustments to the machine to control speed, material feed and path of the cut.
- Make sure the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality product.
- Look at the finished product to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in production.
- Being able to read schematics.
- Having good written and verbal communication skills.
- Being able to detect malfunctions.
- Having manual dexterity.
- Being accurate.
- Having understanding of using repair tools, testing machinery, and equipments.
- Having knowledge of metals.
- Being able to stand for long periods of time.
Qualifications:
- Must be an expert at milling, grinding
- EDM to close tolerances.
