Palliative Care Physician Opportunity with a Leading Healthcare Provider

Our client, a top healthcare services company, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Palliative Care Physician to join their dedicated Palliaitve Care Team. Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver high-quality, direct patient care with a focus on diagnosis, treatment, and management of pain and symptoms for patients with severe and life-threatening conditions.

- Conduct patient and family counseling to ensure comprehensive symptom management and support.

- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, and chaplains, to plan and coordinate patient care.

- Maintain accurate patient records, supporting sound medical practices and reimbursement processes.

- Foster strong working relationships with hospitalists, other physicians, and referral sources to ensure a seamless continuity of care.

- Identify and implement innovative care delivery approaches to enhance patient and caregiver experiences in managing serious illnesses.

- Contribute to the development of educational materials and participate in the training of medical professionals.

- Adhere to ethical principles and support shared decision-making in the practice of serious illness care.

- Prescribe medications in accordance with South Carolina statutes and professional practice guidelines.

Requirements:

- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.

- Completion of an accredited U.S. Residency Program.

- Holding a valid, unrestricted medical license in the State of South Carolina.

- Active and unrestricted DEA licensure.

- Board certification in Palliative/Hospice Medicine.

- Eligible for malpractice insurance.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Occasionally supervise medical students in training.

- Oversee mid-level practitioners as assigned by the Medical Director.
