Duration: 13 Weeks

Compensation:

  • Local: $40 to $47/hour
  • Travel: $48 to $53.50/hour

Shift Details

  • Primary Schedule: Day Shifts – 5x8-hour shifts
    • 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
    • 11:00 AM – 07:00 PM
  • Additional Coverage: Mix of 4x8-hour and 4x12-hour shifts
    • 07:00–15:30 | 11:00–19:30 | 15:00–23:30
    • 07:00–19:30 | 11:00–23:30
  • Block Scheduling: Not available

Job Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking experienced Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) to join a high-acuity Adult Operating Room team in Syracuse, NY. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong experience in trauma and multi-specialty surgical procedures who thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain operating rooms in accordance with established protocols
  • Scrub in and assist surgeons during a wide range of procedures
  • Maintain sterile fields and ensure proper instrument sterilization
  • Assist with patient positioning and surgical draping
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments efficiently
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and OR staff to ensure smooth workflow
  • Adhere to infection control, safety standards, and hospital policies
  • Accurately document procedures and maintain records

Specialty Experience Required

Candidates must have recent scrub experience across multiple specialties, including:

  • Trauma
  • Orthopedic
  • General Surgery
  • ENT
  • Vascular
  • GYN
  • Neurosurgery
  • Bariatric
  • Genitourinary (GU)

Qualifications

  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
  • Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience within the last 4 years
  • Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center or similar acute care setting preferred
  • First-time travelers considered with strong, comparable hospital experience
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
