Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 educational institution in Aurora, CO, is seeking a skilled Teacher for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This position is a contracted role for the current school year (CSY) and is ideal for educators passionate about supporting learners with hearing impairments in an inclusive school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
  • Utilize specialized teaching methods and assistive technologies to enhance munication and learning.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and audiologists to provide prehensive support.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that promotes language development and social skills.
  • municate regularly with families regarding student achievements and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification with an endorsement or specialization in Deaf Education or expertise in educating students who are Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience working with K-12 Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant munication methods preferred.
  • Strong collaboration and munication skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to create engaging, accessible lessons tailored to diverse learning needs.
