Counter-Form LLC is seeking a Capper Production Worker
Rate: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Work Schedule:Schedule will vary based on workload; Full-time with overtime.
First Shift: Monday thru Friday starting at 6:30am (No Weekends!)

What you will do:
The Capper Production worker is responsible for applying laminate end caps to countertops, ensuring quality control, and maintain production standards. The role involves handling various countertop sizes and weights, applying laminates, trimming edges, and working with specialized tools, all while adhering to safety and quality guidelines.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and follow daily work schedule.
  • Retrieve and position laminated countertops onto work tables using pneumatic lifts.
  • Transport built-up countertops (0–45” wide, up to 12’ long, weighing up to 100 lbs) to the designated work area. Larger tops require team lifting to ensure safety.
  • Inspect each piece for quality control: verify correct core size and length, check laminate for defects, and confirm color accuracy.
  • Match and prepare the correct end cap laminate, heating it in designated ovens until glue is softened.
  • Remove laminate from oven and apply to countertop edge using a steel roller, employing a side-to-side motion with body pressure for 2–3 minutes or until the cap cools and adheres.
  • Apply lubricant to the top, trim excess laminate with hand routers, and smooth edges with hand files. (electric or air driven)
  • Clean the surface and sand the bottom using a sanding block or DA sander.
  • Transfer completed tops to the next department for cleaning.
  • Maintain consistent productivity without reliance on a production line.
  • Cross-train in at least one additional work area.
  • Assist with training new employees on laminate application and quality control procedures.
  • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Assist in inventory management by reporting low stock of materials or tools.
  • Ensure the workspace is organized, clean, and free of hazards.
  • Follow all company policies related to safety, attendance, and performance.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on production processes to improve efficiency.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

What you need:

  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, ear protection and closed toed shoes.
  • Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures to prevent injury.
  • Previous Manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Ability to accurately read tape measures and production paperwork.

Typical physical demands

  • Major (>50% of job) physical demands of this job are: Standing, walking, lift and carry, grip and handle (to 75 lbs), Constant noise levels of 68 – 78 dba
  • Required physical demands (25% - 50% of job) are: Wrist and shoulder lifting movements, ability to grip and use Hand pressure roller, good near vision and depth perception for use of hand tools and quality control, ability to identify and distinguish colors, and ability to adjust focus. Requires good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity, sufficient to grab, lift, carry, operate hand, and power tools.
  • Minor physical demands (<25% of job) are: Lift, push and pull items using hands and arms.
