Job Title: Safety Training Manager
Location: East Bay Area, CA

Tiello is partnered with a long-standing and respected general contractor based in the East Bay Area. Known for its collaborative culture and strong values, this firm is seeking a Safety Training Manager to help lead and support a robust safety culture across diverse construction projects.
Position Overview:
The Safety Training Manager will play a key role in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations while fostering a proactive and hands-on safety culture. This includes leading training programs, supporting jobsite safety initiatives, and mentoring team members to ensure best practices in workplace health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct at least two corporate safety training sessions per week in partnership with internal teams and unions.
- Offer hands-on guidance regarding safety, health, and environmental matters to field and office personnel.
- Ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., Cal/OSHA) through the delivery of relevant safety programs.
- Create, review, and update safety manuals, policies, and procedures in response to regulatory changes.
- Utilize Safety Management Software (e.g., KPA or equivalent) for timely safety documentation.
- Assist with administrative safety programs, such as respiratory protection and annual audits.
- Mentor field safety engineers via site visits, feedback, and coaching.
- Lead internal safety communication efforts and coordinate companywide safety meetings.
- Facilitate monthly training sessions and job-specific safety briefings.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess safety training effectiveness and provide real-time feedback.
- Analyze safety incident data to identify trends and reduce injuries.
- Draft and maintain technical safety documents, including written safety plans.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience in safety training.
- At least 5 years of hands-on construction experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret various forms of instruction.
- Capable of performing physical fieldwork including walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CSP or CIH certification.
- Advanced occupational safety certifications and leadership experience in safety roles.
